Nickname
The nickname of Brentford FC is “Bees,” and there is a very interesting story behind it as it was created unintentionally in the 1890s when students of the college chanted “Back up Bs” in support of their friend playing for Brentford football club. The media misheard the chant as “Buck up Bees,” hence the club has been nicknamed “Bees” since then.
History
Brentford FC was created in 1889 and entered the London League in 1896 and the Southern League in 1898: after 22 years, they got elected into the English Football League in 1920.
