Crystal Palace FC has its roots in 1861 when an amateur team was formed in a huge glass building named Crystal Palace, which was built for the Great Exhibition. In 1895, the FA Cup final was moved to Crystal Palace Park by the English Football Association. The FA cup was very popular at that time and attracted a massive crowd to the venue. Hence, the Crystal Palace Football Club was established in 1905.
The iconic Crystal Palace building was burned to the ground due to a huge fire in 1936, although you can see the building structure in the club’s logo.
In its early years, Crystal Palace FC was famous for the nickname “Glaziers,” which means a person that works with glass or glass windows.
The Club’s highest achievement is its third-place finish in the First Division (Premier League) of the English football league in the 1990-91 season.
Crystal Palace FC plays their home matches at Selhurst Park, a football stadium located in London, England, with a seating capacity of approximately 25,000 people.
